Creative to launch its Android tablet in the Indian Market.

Now, Creative will be yet another company to launch its Android touting tablet device in the Indian Market. Yes, Creative is the same company which is known for its portable audio and media players, but most of you might be aware that many companies are jumping on the tablet bandwagon hence, so have Creative. The company is quite popular amongst India consumers however, they have been a bit quite in recent years and these new devices may get them back in action.
So, the guys have launched two new tablet devices under the new ZiiO line-up and they include the ZiiO 7-inch and ZiiO 10-inch Pure Wireless Entertainment Tablets. While both the tablets have been unveiled back in last year, they have reached the Indian shores now. These tablets run Google’s Android 2.2 mobile operating system better known as FroYo and they are running on a ZiiLABS ZMS-08 HD Media-Rich Processor. It seems like these have been specifically designed for music enthusiasts as both come with their Sound Blaster, X-Fi Crystalizer and X-Fi Expand audio enhancement technologies. Furthermore, the guys have also claimed that these devices are specifically designed to offer users with the best wireless audio performance on an Android tablet as they would be able to connect to Creative’s new range of wireless Bluetooth headphones and speakers which are A2DP compatible.
As mentioned above the guys have announced two tablets – a 7-inch version and a 10-inch version. The 7-inch version comes with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution screen while the 10-inch version will come with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution display and both will include a resistive touchscreen. This is the only major difference in the tablets as other features include Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth with A2DP +EDR and apt-X, 720p HDMI output support, front facing VGA camera, 3.5mm audio jack, built-in microphone. Users can opt-in for an 8GB or a 16GB version according to their preference while both will support expandable memory via microSD card.
As the focus of the tablet is to deliver rich media performance it supports a video formats including H.264, MPEG4, WMV9, MJPEG, MOV, AVI and MKV while the audio formats supported include AP#, ACC, WMA9, FLAC, OGG, ADPCM, MIDI, WAV and Audible Format 4. As the tablets have a resistive touchscreen they comes with a stylus and other accessories include a leather case, screen protector and universal power adapter.
The Creative ZiiO 8GB tablets will be available via select outlets and the 7-inch is priced at Rs. 17,999 while the 10-inch is priced at Rs. 21,999. The pricing for the 16GB models are yet to be announced.
